Mary Vantra, Chairperson
Mary is a Cancer survivor, Director, Trustee and founding member. She has been actively involved in sensitization and operations of BCT since our inception and continues to be one of the pillars of the Trust. Mary is a business woman who runs a restaurant, hair salon, butchery and bakery which supplies the ward with daily breakfast meals to patients and workers.

Rosalyn Mulenga, Vice Chairperson
Rose is a founding member as well as a Director and Trustee. Over the years, she has been one of the pillars of BCT, having held a number of positions and building on her experience as a seasoned public relations executive of a large quasi Government organisation. She has also held the position of Country Representative for Hope for Children (UK). Rose is a business woman who also makes personal time and provides financing for BCT. Although not a survivor herself, she has traveled the cancer journey many a time through nursing a number of relatives; some who have survived while others lost their individual battles.

Elizabeth Pemba, Trustee
Elizabeth is one of the founding members, Director and Trustee of BCT. At inception, she worked tirelessly to get BCT off the ground organising the registration of the Trust, postal box, bank accounts, soliciting for sponsorship, coordinating awareness campaign walks, and the like. In the last 10 years she has been instrumental in raising public awareness through ensuring continuity of activities such as the weekly radio program on Radio Phoenix ‘Celebrating Life’, advertising on Radio Phoenix, and various fundraising and networking activities. Through Radio Phoenix where she is General Manager, BCT disseminates vital information on cancer to the general populace and also raises funds for its outreach programs in key provinces by utilising the same media for free advertising and air time.

Eunice Mwape, Office Administrator
Eunice joined in 2003 and has managed the office since inception. She is the main point of contact for BCT. Eunice arranges counselling services; maintains the records of admitted patients who have been and lists of contributions\gifts to the ward; type all correspondences & meeting minutes etc.... Eunice is the link between the BCT executive and the UTH ward administration.

Amy M. Z. Sikazwe, Publicity Secretary
Amy is an Economist who brings with her a wealth of knowledge of the corporate world where she worked in various senior management positions until her recent early retirement. She is a preacher’s wife and also a cancer survivor who has been very instrumental in awareness activities since the time she joined in 2005. She is a Reach for Recovery certified volunteer counselor.

Demetria Lubinga, Treasurer
Demi is a cancer survivor. Having joined in 2003 she brings with her over 10 years of banking experience. Demi held senior positions in both retail and corporate banking. She is a Reach for Recovery certified volunteer counselor and is actively involved in awareness and fundraising activities.

Joyce Kabwe, Vice Treasurer
Joyce is a cancer survivor. She is also a Reach for Recovery certified volunteer counselor actively involved in awareness and fundraising activities. Having retired recently after over 30 years of working in the telecommunication industry, she devotes her time to the oversight of general BCT day to day operations.

Inonge Chitambala
Inonge, a cancer survivor and full time farmer is an Executive Committee member. She is also a Reach for Recovery certified volunteer counselor, involved in awareness and fundraising activities.

Dorothy Mwambazi
Dorothy is an Executive Committee member and a cancer survivor. A Nurse at the University Teaching Hospital, she is also a Reach for Recovery certified volunteer counselor and through her access to hospital facilities reaches out to patients in her daily work life. She has been a member since 2002.

Sister Jennifer Phiri
Sister Jane, BCT’s only Nun is an Executive Committee member and cancer survivor who is currently studying the field of Palliative Care in the USA. Prior to her departure in 2007, she was also actively involved in the daily running of the BCT office. Sister Jane is a Reach for Recovery certified volunteer counselor and still involved despite the limitations of the geographical distance.

Tabitha Ngwashi
Tabitha is an Executive Committee member currently based in the USA. A teacher by profession, she was actively involved in the day to day BCT activities. While working within the limitations of her geographical distance Tabitha continues to be support BCT by organizing the website and various other Internet social media awareness campaigns.
