Symptoms
The symptoms of breast cancer include;
- A lump or thickening anywhere in the breast or armpit : A lump is a hard swelling. The lump is hard, has uneven edges and usually does not hurt.
- Nipple pain or the nipple turning inward
- A nipple discharge other than breast milk : The breast can be red and dimpled like the skin of an orange and a bloody, clear to yellow-green fluid or pus coming out of the nipple
- Skin irritation over the breast
- Thickening of the nipple or breast skin
- Breast pain
These changes also can be signs of less serious disease that are not cancers, such as an boil in the breast. It’s important to get any breast changes checked out promptly by a doctor.
These are all changes that you may be able to see or feel as you check your breasts. they may also be seen or felt during a breast exam when the doctor or nurse touches and gently presses the breasts, feeling for lumps, thickening or other changes.
